The Midwest Explorers blog will share information and stories about our experiences exploring our own stomping grounds as well as our adventures abroad.  We hope to provide you with incite of magnificent places in this world that are awe-inspiring and less traveled, so that you too can go out and explore!

We have several adventures planned!  We will share all the information heading up to this trip as well as the experience we have while we are there.

About the Authors

We are a twenty-something couple that has a passion for travel and exploring the world together.  We are both from Michigan; however, our current stomping grounds is Seattle, WA.  I work in clinical research and Kyle is  Physician Assistant.  With our busy schedules, we still maintain our desire to see the world and “work to live, not live to work.”

As youngsters, we were both lucky enough to have families that made a great effort to explore the vast beauty of this nation.  These family adventures installed a desire in both of us at a young age to go out and explore the world!

Our adventure began together in 2008 at Michigan State University when Kyle sat next to me on our first day of Biology.  This was the beginning of a beautiful love and friendship.  In the summer of 2009, we decided one afternoon we wanted to explore Australia.  We figured out the logistics and flew off to the Land Down Under in February of 2010 to study abroad in Melbourne.  We explored the awe-inspiring landscape of Australia for 6 precious months.  Since our return home, we have the dream to have many more adventures both in the US and abroad.

  1. I stumbled upon your blog while researching for our upcoming trip to Iceland this September! As I continued to browse, I fell in love with your blog. My husband and I are twenty somethings, living in Indiana and both in health care. I couldn’t help but note the similarities and have so enjoyed all the incite you share. Although we won’t have as much time in the Land of Fire and Ice, we will definitely be taking notes from your posts!
Also- we just watched your GoPro video- couldn’t be more excited!

How much time will you have in Iceland? We were able to do the ring road in about 10 days and headed back down to the south region because we loved it so much. Have a wonderful time and Happy Planning!
